Rangers and Cowboys

Yesterday afternoon we went to the Ballpark in Arlington with some friends. Before the game, there was a free Third Day concert! We were pretty far at the back of the lawn after having arrived a little late, but we love their music and the weather was superb. Later the Rangers "played" Toronto.... I don't know much about baseball but I do know that the Rangers are not very good at it. However, it was still fun. I LOVE the ballpark and how it's completely enclosed.

From the ballpark you can look out at the progress being made on the new Cowboys' stadium. It's disgustingly huge and I am going to love going to a game or two there someday!!! Texas is surely the best state in the union.

I love my husband

He is on the phone with Discover right now to close the account we haven't used in over a year. He is telling the customer service lady all about how to live debt-free and just suggested that she read Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey.

He is so cute.

Saturday cycle - Cedar Hill, Midlothian, Ovilla

This morning we spent a couple of hours on the road. The weather was fantastic! Sunny, clear, and in the low 70s with no humidity. It was the perfect day to be out! We took some photos along the way so you could all enjoy the day, too...

Thought this was cool on Shiloh Rd...

Me posing in front of the Midlothian Cement Company. Thanks to a cement-producing client I am quite knowledgeable about cement production and the proper tax treatment of their fixed assets. Ask me all about clinker.

Going back to India!

Hooray! I get to go back to India in January 2009... this time for 6 weeks. Yes, it's a long time to be away from home and my sweet husband and darling pugs. However, I loved India and I am excited to go back. I don't have to do any laundry, cooking, or ironing for 6 whole weeks! And the best part is that we are planning to take a trip to Rome at the end of my 6 weeks!

This provides a great incentive for us to get through Baby Step 2 of our Total Money Makeover by the end of 2008. If not, no trip to Rome. But we're already ahead of our plan, and we are sticking to it and making a game of it. I haven't felt deprived of anything. It feels great to be in control of our personal finances.

This is a YouTube video that someone else from Deloitte just posted upon returning from a 6-week rotation. I love the song, and the images bring back great memories from my fall visit to Hyderabad.
